Stunting or generally called short / stunted is a condition of failure to thrive in children under five years of age (babies under five years) due to chronic malnutrition so that the child is too short for his age. Globally, stunting is still a nutritional problem for children under five years old. Based on Nutritional Status Monitoring (PSG) since 2015-2017, stunting has the highest prevalence related to nutritional problems in children under five, followed by malnutrition, underweight and obesity.

There are various factors that can increase the incidence of stunting and malnutrition. Internal factors in the form of race, gender, and genetic and external factors such as family socio-economic conditions. In addition, the situation of mothers and mothers-to-be also plays a very important role in the risk of stunting and malnutrition.

Therefore, in commemoration of Hari Gizi Nasional which falls on January 25, 2021, SCOPH CIMSA FK UIN SH carries out a series of activities to reduce and anticipate the number of stunting and malnutrition in Indonesia in the form of a campaign on these issues. The series of activities started with a discussion through Zoom Meeting with Dr. Dhian Dipo, MA as Direktur Gizi Masyarakat from Kementerian Kesehatan RI on Friday, January 15, 2020 regarding the prevalence of stunting and malnutrition in Indonesia, the government's efforts to deal with stunting itself, as well as a demonstration related to balanced nutrition rules for toddlers. The results of the discussion’s recording were packaged in the form of a podcast which was published on Tuesday, January 26, 2020 via Spotify CIMSA FK UIN SH and educational videos on YouTube CIMSA UIN.

Then on January 21-26, 2020, counseling was held regarding stunting and malnutrition by members of the CIMSA SCOPH FK UIN SH to 20 family members or residents of the area around the member's residence who had a toddler. Extension is carried out through two choices of methods, namely ground campaigns and online education. The counseling was continued with the distribution of height charts. The activity went so fun that the family members looks so enthusiastic.

With the implementation of this series of activities, we are looking forward for the increase of public awareness and also knowledge regarding the prevalence of stunting and malnutrition as well as knowing the strategies and roles of the government in dealing with stunting in Indonesia.
