Paper is an item that is widely used by people of all ages. The use of a lot of paper will cause an increase in the amount of paper waste. Paper waste is waste that includes inorganic waste which is very difficult to decompose and takes a long time to decompose even tens of years. In order to counter all of that, SCORP CIMSA FK UIN SH held a community development called GO GREEN in hopes of increasing medical students' knowledge and awareness regarding plastic waste and paper waste and their impact on the environment and also zero waste lifestyle. GO GREEN is a community development that is carried out in two interventions. The 1st Intervention was already held on Saturday, January 15th, 2022 and the 2nd Intervention was held on Sunday, January 23rd, 2022, both via Zoom Meeting. The 2nd Interventions discussed about the impact paper waste on the environment and how to reduce it by recycling paper waste. Those topics were presented by Mrs. Ananda Fadhila from Kesanakeseni.
On Sunday, January 23rd, 2022, SCORP CIMSA FK UIN SH held the second intervention of GO GREEN. This activity was a sharing sessions about the impact of plastic and paper waste to the environment and direct practice to make handicrafts from recycling paper waste. The event started at 09.15 a.m. and was opened by our MC. At the beginning, the speaker demonstrate the steps of paper recycling. After that, the participants tried to recycle the paper waste guided directly by Mrs. Ananda Fadhila from Kesanakeseni. We also got some informations about how to make the paper recycling as a bussiness from Mrs. Ananda. During that session, the participants were very active and very enthusiastic. The activity was closed by giving certificate to the speaker. We also had a photo session with all participants and the speaker.
We got positive feedback from the participants and we were having a very good time. Seeing the enthusiasm of the participants made the event deserve to be held next time. We truly wish this event gave the participants truly benefits and useful knowledge about paper recycling.
