As medical students, it is a must to learn how to do anamnesis. It’s because anamnesis is the first step to diagnose our patients correctly. There would be many patients, with different backgrounds, cultures, and languages that we have to handle in the future. These background differences shouldn't get in the way of doing anamnesis correctly. So, skills to do anamnesis in English must be trained.
Therefore, on February 5th, 2022 SCOPE CIMSA FK UIN SH held the first intervention for a sustainable project called CHEESE (Cheers with English) via Zoom Meeting to learn how to communicate with English language. The tutors in this event were the members of SCOPE CIMSA FK UIN SH.
The agenda on the second intervention were mini-lectures and role-play session of history taking in English. The event was attended by preclinical students of FK UIN Jakarta. The event was opened with an opening session by the moderator. After that, the students were given a pre-test about history taking in English. After that, the student received material about past medical history from dr. Bisatyo Mardjikoen, Sp.OT. After the delivery of the material was completed, we took a photo together. After that, the student went to the breakout room to join the role play session with the tutors about the material that has been obtained. In the breakout room, there were 2 students and 1 tutor. In the role play session, each student acted as a doctor and the tutor became the patient. After that, the students communicated to each other as doctor and patient. The role play session lasted for 20 minutes. After the role play session was completed, the student went back to the mainroom. We also play a game to make participants more enthusiastic. Student who got the highest score will get a reward. After the game session, the participants were asked to fill out a post test.
The participants are very enthusiastic about participating in all activities from start to finish. We are very thankful to the participants and speakers for the enthusiasm of the 1st intervention. Seeing the enthusiasm of the participants made the event deserve to be held next time. It is hoped that this enthusiasm will last until last intervention. We truly wish this event gave the participants truly benefits and useful knowledge.
