CHEESE (CHEERS WITH ENGLISH) 1ST INTERVENTION SCOPE CIMSA FK UIN SH

To increase the knowledge and interest of Indonesian students in English, on Friday, 19 February 2021, SCOPE CIMSA FK UIN SH held its first intervention for CHEESE (Cheers with English) which was carried out online through a zoom meeting, which was attended by 20 FK UIN students. SH class of 2020.

This activity begins with a speech by LEO SCOPE. Then participants will be given a pre-test link and fill in the pre-test for 10 minutes. The next activity is giving material to CHEESE participants in 2020 regarding the history of present illness by the resource person, dr. Bisatyo Mardjikoen, Sp. OT. The presentation of the material is about onset, position, quality, radiation, relieving & aggravating factors, treatment, timing and associated symptoms. After the material presentation is complete, participants are given time to ask questions about the material that is not clear and is answered by the resource person. So that students do not feeling bored, so we held a game for 10 minutes related to the CHEESE event. Here it can be seen that they are very enthusiastic about the program and students who get the highest score will be given an award by the committee. Next, the participants will be guided by the committee into the breakout room that has been determined for anamnesis exercise together with the CHEESE 2019 cadres for 15 minutes.

After entering the breakout room, participants will be given a clue about their disease cases by CHEESE cadres, then students will act like doctors and their cadres act as patients who are doing anamnesis, of course using English. From there we see their progress is quite good in carrying out anamnesis and also their development in English. Judging from the way they use the vocabulary which is quite good and their speaking skills are very good too.

Alhamdulillah the 1st CHEESE intervention event went very well and smoothly, it is hoped that this event can improve their ability to do anamnesis and also their professionalism as a prospective doctor, especially in their ability to speak English.

We hope that SCOPE CIMSA FK UIN SH, with this activity, has managed to improve the students’ understanding of this subject better, and increase their interest in learning English. We hope that we can continue to make English fun and interesting for the students, and motivate them to use English more, not just during this event, but also in everyday lives.
