MEA: Ngbrol asik bahas kuliah di luar negeri kuy!

Medical Education in Indonesia has a lot of differences compared to medical education in other countries. Those different things include in terms of education quality, educational technologies, medical advances which aren’t in Indonesia yet, and many more. Thus, we haven’t experienced those things in Indonesia yet.

Because of those reasons, we, SCOPE and SCOME of CIMSA UIN collaborated to make a new project, we called it ‘MEA’ (Medical Education Abroad)lecturers who have experienced their study abroad. Here they are:

Speaker 1: dr. Hari Hendarto, Sp.PD-KEMD, FINASIM, Ph.D Doctor Hari is an internist, a consultant of Endocrine-Metabolic-Diabetes. He finished his medical bachelor in the Faculty of Medicine Christian Indonesia University, and pursued his specialty in Internal Medicine in Faculty of Medicine University of Indonesia. He practices in some of the most prominent hospital in Jakarta. Not only practices as an internist, but he also a medical education lecturer and researcher. It’s proven that he pursued his doctoral study in Japan, where he got his Ph.D degree.nvited our

Speaker 2: dr. Flori Ratna Sari, Ph.D

Doctor Flori is a Pharmacology lecturer in Faculty of Medicine of Syarif Hidayatullah University. Aside from being a lecturer, she’s a research staff and generate some scientific works which are published in international journal. She did her medical bachelor in Faculty of Medicine Indonesia University, and continue her doctoral in Niigata University of Pharmacy and Applied Life Science, Japan.

Speaker 3: dr. Cut Warning, M.P.H

Doctor Cut also one of a lecturer in Faculty of Medicine Syarif Hidayatullah State University. She finished her bachelor degree in Medicine from Padjadjaran University, and pursued her magister in the University of Adelaide, and got her M.P.H degree.

On Tuesday, January 16th 2018, we held MEA. But unfortunately, only dr. Hari and dr. Flori can come to the event because dr. Cut was still in Mataram. But it didn't reduce the interest of the audiences, it’s proven by the amount of the audiences kept increase during the event, and the total amount was 55 people. The registration started at 04.00 pm, followed by a brief speech from the Project Officer Ananda Chairia, followed by the local coordinator, Reyfal Khaidar. Then we started to do the seminar with dr. Flori as our speaker. She explained what did she do to got the scholarship, the research she did in Japan, and how to deal with the culture shock and other differences and difficulties during her staying in Niigata, Japan.

After the seminar, we did a talkshow, guided by Alam Sampurna. He asked the two doctors how was their experiences in Japan, how to deal with the shock culture in Japan, how to got the scholarship, and many more. Also there was five students who asked some questions to the guest speakers.

And then dr. Hari and dr. Flori also gave us some tips and trick how to get a scholarship abroad. And then, after the talkshow, we gave a certificate to the guest speakers, and then took a photo together. All of the audiences felt happy because from this project, they know how’s the illustration to get a scholarship abroad.
